My name is Amy but most people call me Chai. I love discovering new places and spending hours wandering around farmers markets with a latte. When I travel I always look for a unique place to stay with warm decor and a well stocked kitchen! Back in 2011, I began hosting Airbnb guests in my backyard cabin. I fell in love with hosting and discovered that there were so many people (like me) who were looking for more than "just a place to stay". I began to see how thoughtful touches like fresh flowers, a bottle of wine, and locally roasted coffee really made people feel special. In 2016 I participated in the Airbnb Open in L.A. where I was invited to take part in educational workshops and share best practices with hosts from all over the world. I spoke about the realities of hosting in rural settings and shared some funny stories from my start up days. I had the chance to meet the founders of Airbnb and I returned home filled with inspiration and new ideas for how to be a better host. I believe that Airbnb has changed the way we travel for the better and I am so proud to be a part of this global movement.
